Orange Honeysuckle
(Lonicera ciliosa)
This honeysuckle is found on the edges of dry coniferous forests.
It often climbs 15-20 feet up the trunk of a tree. The showy orange to scarlet
flower is almost exclusively pollinated by the Rufous Hummingbird. The Orange
Honeysuckle does not emit a fragrance which is used by most flowers to attract
insects for pollination. Photo by Richard Wright
