Black Oystercatcher

The Black Oystercatcher is easily identified by its bright reddish-orange bill and piping calls. It hunts for mussels along rockly shorelines. The Black Oysetercatcher nests on many of the small islets of the San Juans. Photo by Stephan O. Fjelstad.
